Creme Brulee from Kat's Party

Ingredients

 

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 500ml double cream
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 100g caster sugar


 

Slice the vanilla pod length ways and scoop out the seeds into the cream, heat on the hob until it boils then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 min.

 

Whisk the yolks and sugar together in a big bowl, then pour the cream into it whisking all the time. Pour the mixture through a sieve into a jug.

 

Put some ramikins into deep baking tray and fill the tray with hot water so it comes to halfway up the ramikins.

 

Pour the mixture into the ramikins and put into a preheated oven at 180c cook for about 30 min or until the mixture sets so it just wobbles when you shake it.

 

Take them out chill them then put em in the fridge.

 

Put sugar over the top when they're cold and stick them under a hot grill until it melts.
